How to Block Websites From Your Network Explorer

The Network Explorer is a location in your Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating system designed to configure and see all your networking resources like routers, modems and computers that are connected to the local area network (LAN). Using Network Explorer, you can block certain websites that you may find inappropriate or disruptive at the workplace or in a school environment.

Instructions:

Step 1
Launch Network Explorer from the Start menu. Please note that Network Explorer is only available for Windows Vista and Windows 7 users.

Step 2
Locate the button "Network and Sharing Center" in the top bar. Click on it to launch a new window.

Step 3
Click on the link "Internet Options" under the sub-heading "See also" located at the bottom-left corner of your screen.

Step 4
Click on the "Security" tab and select the icon titled "Restricted sites." Hit the button "Sites."

Step 5
Type the URL of the website you wish to block under "Add this website to the zone" and click on "Add." Repeat this step for all the other websites you want to block.

Step 6
Click on "Apply" and hit "OK" to end the task. Relaunch your web browser.
